Sometimes I feel like Cinderella at the ball without a watch or access to a clock.

I just wait for the magic to inevitably disappear.

It's been awhile...

Okay soooo I haven't written in a REALLY long time I feel like. So here's goes. Not much to report, but I'll do what I can to make it exciting...ish.

School is gooood. I really enjoy my classes and they're interesting and fun (generally). I go to class somewhat pay attention. Had the first round of midterms this past week (and a couple more coming up next week) and I don't think I did too bad! We'll see though. I'm not doing as well as I'd hoped on the "focus on school and nothing else" thing. ...Oops. :)

Work is still fun. I really like my shift and everyone is really chill. I've been there for almost two years, so sometimes I take over the supervisor duties. I like knowing what I'm doing and how to handle the problems. For example, yesterday it was RIDICULOUSLY busy and I wanted to die. And then the printer broke. Awesome. So what do I do? Open the beezy up and fix it. And get toner all over my hands. And save the day. Bfd.

Our new apt is freakin' awesome. I love it so much. For the past month-ish we've had a somewhat shady roommate (per usual) which became apparent when we found a six pack of Corona in the fridge. Shadygirl moved out yesterday, she and her stuff just disappeared, and new girl moved in today. She seems nice, but they all do in the beginning. I'll keep you updated.

My birthday was really fun! I didn't want a party or anything really, but Dannielle caught me on a night when my brain function was minimal and I allowed her full reign over the birthday festivities. I'm glad I did though, it great. Racheal and Dannielle spent a good part of the day decorating the apt, complete with string lights and fake candles, margaritas and jell-o shots, and blackjack of course. It was a classy party, so we were in dresses and everyone came in nice clothes, I was pretty surprised. All my favorite (local) people came and it was grrrrrreat. Also, Dannielle and I were talking afterwards and realized we have all guy friends. Which is cool, but kinda sucked for them because there wasn't a very good ratio. Sorry, boys. :)

The next thing happening in life is GOING TO LA IN THREE WEEKS FOR DANNIELLE'S BIRTHDAY. I'm so stoked. This will be my... 5th trip to LA in 8 months. Dang. That's awesome. I can't wait. Dannielle and I are going down and another friend, Carly. She works with Dannielle and they got pretty close over the summer. I've hung out with her a few times and she's legit. Holy crap I'm so freakin' excited. Counting down starts now.

That's the excitement in my life for now. At least, that's the excitement I'm going to write about... hahaha.

Also, I drew this picture for my History of English 324 class and I just thought it was really cool so I'm gonna show you. Haha. That's all.

RIGHT NOW

  • I am a new person.
  • I will be happy because I choose to be.
  • I won't allow myself to fall subject to eloquence and flattery.
  • I will not let anyone dictate my emotions.
  • I will be studious.
  • I will do my best in everything.
  • I will not do anything that I don't want to do.
  • I will be focused.
  • I will still have a lot of fun. ...of course. Heh.
  • There's other stuff I can't remember right now, but basically I'm a new me that is going to be awesome all by myself.

Summer

This summer has been pretty swell all around. Working from 730am - 4pm every day (sometimes more if I read my clock wrong...), hanging out at Alex's multiple times a week, having a 'usual' at Yogurtland, going down to LA/San Diego to see friends and go to Comic Con, planning/prepping/participating in my brother's wedding, falling (physically and otherwise), babysitting anytime someone asked, paying  bills, worrying endlessly about future plans, and countless other meaningless things.

Amazingly, even though I worked every day and was somewhat stressed out it was a good summer. I'm usually really ready to get back to Provo and get back into the routine of school, work, and friends but this time I'm indifferent. It'll be cool to start up where I left off, but at the same time I really liked being at home and not having much responsibility. There are two main reasons I'm excited to get back. 1) My AWESOME new apt and all the cool stuff my mom and I bought to pimp it out. 2) All my guy friends from freshman year are coming back from their missions after two years and I've missed them sooo much. Some more good things? I'm getting into the good classes for my major and I love them. I really enjoy my job and I like everyone I work with. Oh and my apt is freakin' sweet and Dannielle is only a wall away again. :)

I'm allowing myself one super-fun thing per month. Skydiving in 3 weeks, LA (Disneyland/Fright Fest) in October for Dannielle's birthday (YAYYY!), and I haven't decided what epic thing I'm doing in Nov. or Dec. yet. If anyone has and ideas let me know. I'd like to just go back to LA every month and stay for about a month but I doubt that would go over well with the whole "school" and "job" thing... pfff.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Now I Have A Most Embarrassing Moment

Yes. I dropped a cake. It was bad. Everyone laughed and the photographer was clicking away so there will be plenty of pictures of me bright red holding an empty cake platter.

And then here's Sarah and I in our matching dresses. Aw.

REAL Wedding Pictures!

The photographer was amazing! Her website is http://www.oneboyonegirl.com/ . She is awesome! These are some of the photos she took and you can see a bit of the reception area in Peyton's backyard. Gorgeous. Peyton and her mom did all the decorating.

The Wedding - Pictures

As everyone knows (I think) my brother, Blake, got married on August 8 at the Oakland Temple. I hung out with my little cousins and some other friends outside while they did their thing and then took a MILLION pictures. My cheeks are still recovering. I don't have a ton of pictures, but here are a few we took while we were hangin out and a few from the reception that my friend took.

My little cousins had my camera most of the time, so about 150 of the pictures on my camera are of flowers or someone's eye.

I gave Sarah and Meg manicures while we were chillin. And painted a little heart on Olivia's thumb. She really liked it but refused to take a picture, haha.

Blake and Peyton, the new Mr. and Mrs. Jones coming out of the temple.
Isn't her dress gorgeous?! I love it. It's so soft too, haha.

Aw.

Mr. and Mrs. Blake Jones

A few from the reception...
I'll find some more later.

Cutting the cake.

Blake would probably dislike it if he knew I put this up. Bahahaha
Can you tell we're related? :)

Strange Girls

Bonker Ball

Church today was quite the ordeal. Getting the kids ready wasn't bad, they're pretty well-behaved and kept me from being too irreverent.. haha. The interesting part was being in the nursery with 13 small children, ages 2-4, and trying to get them all to do what I wanted them to do. Oh, and Olivia (my youngest cousin) was in there with me and wouldn't let go of my necklace or my skirt, depending on whether I was sitting or standing. It made it a bit more difficult.

Anyway

There were eight girls and five boys that two other women and I got to try and keep track of for two hours in a confined space. When I was 3-4 and was in the nursery my dad was in charge for a time. Since then he's told us stories about us and our peers at a young age and the time he spanked one little boy (Ryan Lewis... hahaha) for pushing me down and how he used to play "Bonker Ball" with all the kids. Bonker Ball is an interesting game and quite simple. It always seemed kinda mean to me, but funny, so I laughed. I never thought the day would come when I would play "Bonker Ball" with someone else's child repeatedly.

Here's the game:
All the kids line up in one row in front of you. You have a big plastic ball, throw it at one of their foreheads and yell "BONK!" every time. The kid falls backwards, laugh hysterically, and anxiously awaits their turn to be "bonked" next.

Sounds fun, huh?

Oh, it is. Hahahahaha. The greatest game ever. With little kids, especially. Mua ha ha.

News!

About 3 minutes ago I decided to make a new blog devoted entirely to music because I post too many songs on here I think. And I've totally been holding back, haha. Here's the link to the new blog. I'll start putting stuff up soon...

http://writingonsilence.blogspot.com/

I'm pretty stoked about this. It's bound to be really random, unpredictable and eclectic.

On a completely unrelated note, I just finished watch the season finale of Psych and I absolutely love the ending. I really enjoy Juliet and Shawn's relationship and I was SO excited when Juliet finally realized how great Shawn is and declared herself (as I know Vicki and Angie were too... haha). Anyway, this quote is absolutely perfect, and I agree 100%.

“What I’m saying.. is.. I think maybe the best things, the richest things, aren’t supposed to come easily. And sometimes the moments that make the most sense happen when everything else doesn’t…”

Long Live The Queen!

Mmmm k so I was reading Racheal's blog about being at Cambridge and doing fantastic things in England and I remembered how much I absolutely loved being in London last year
and how much I miss it.
This post is dedicated to one of the best experiences of my life: living in Kensington at 27 Palace Court a block from Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens for two months.
Parliament and the Eye at night. Probably my favorite time and place ever.

Racheal and I in Paris (obviously) = A ridiculously fun and random day.
The girls at Stourhead Gardens. Soooo beautiful. Perfect day.

LOVE this picture. Sorry, Rach, it's just so perfect. And I barely knew you then so you couldn't even be that mad at me after you saw it, hahahahaha. Felicia's face is so great.
Oh, and Tower Bridge in the background is pretty neat too...
Left: In stupid York there was NOTHING to do so we made JP take the picture with us and it ended up being the greatest thing ever. Courtney the gypsy, Carlos is Henry VIII, Racheal the HP witch, JP and Jared being knights and me being some kind of Victorian Era chick. The man that took this was so pissed because we didn't have a "theme" and all wanted different costumes, hahahaha. Deal with it, SIR.

Right: Chillin' on a bench in Hyde Park after one of the ridiculous walks we had to do. We're all exhausted and fake happy. This is when we all started being friends. Jared took the picture and of course Carlos ditched us that day. What's new.

Went to Greenwich for the day with the clique crew and at one point during the course of the day Jared Porter had my jacket and pretended to be a giraffe. I think we'd all gotten a bit too comfortable with each other and were quite exhausted and began acting ridiculous and awesome. This is also about 10 minutes before the half-hour long photo shoot of Courtney, Racheal and I trying to get a satisfactory jumping picture and Racheal and I rolling down the hill and falling off the edge of a mini cliff. Hilariousity ensued.
Oxford University
Left: WIZARDS.
Right: Actual filming location of the great hall in the Harry Potter movies.
So great.

UHHH. YEAH. I WENT THERE. Needless to say about .38 sec after this was taken I proceeded through the portal.

Left: Hyde park. Glorious.
Right: TOPSHOP!! Love it. Found so many great, great things there and they FINALLY came to the U.S.! Unfortunately it's in New York which is a bit far but I will go there. I will.

Probably one of the best jumping pictures of the trip. Oh, and there's Stonehenge in the background. It was cool for the first half hour...
Left: In Bath we went exploring and James found a flier for a "hobo maze" in a church that night. We made sure to go back and check it out because the title was so intriguing. This is the hobo maze. The candles were cool... but the people were smelly. Definitely a highlight.
Right: Rach and I being awesome in Bath. Fuzzy picture, but oh well. Still awesome.

Some people gave us smiles to naturally we had to take pictures with them. Unfortunately you can't see our eyes very well but we all did weird stuff and didn't mean to. We rock.

Left: I think this was in Rye. We fit 5 of us in a phone booth and it was great. And hot.
Right: Where was this, Rach? Help me out. A garden of some kind. But either way this picture is awesome. Jared and Courtney chillin against the wall, Racheal and Carlos loving the rocks and Jared B. and I bein' thugs in the front. Clique ftw.

Left: No one believed that I was strong enough to get Jared on my shoulders.
I AM.
Oh and there's Stonehenge again... hahaha.
Right: Courtney, Racheal, Felicia and I in front of the Tower of London. One of the first things we did together. This was when I was still shy and really nice and no one thought I spoke. Bahaha. Things changed
Left: We found this SWEET underground skate park and HAD to take pictures like this. Needless to say, I'm the most legit. Hahaha
Right: Jones Bootmaker. I bet I'm related to them somehow. That's why I like boots so much.

On the bus ride to Blenheim Palace and Oxford University. This may have been in the midst of a Wicked duet with Racheal. Hahaha who am I kidding, the bus rides were all just one big Wicked duet with Racheal. "I'd do ANYTHING for YOU Ms. Gaaaahlinda!"

Love this place. And these people.
And everything about this experience.
